Get to Know the Team: Ben Bocox

Today, we would like to introduce one of our most experienced team members, Ben Bocox. Ben is our Service Manager and has been with Doug’s Heating & Air Conditioning for 15 years. He graduated from Moline High School and attended Blackhawk College. Ben started his HVAC career working for Holmes Heating and joined the Doug’s team about 2 years later.

I was looking through the paper on Easter and saw an ad for a service technician position at Doug’s Heating & Air Conditioning. I was ready for a change, so I wrote a resume and filled out an application the following week. I met with Matt, and a week later I was a Doug’s employee,” Ben explains.

Ben’s primary duty is running the day-to-day operations of the Service Department with our Dispatcher Pam. They assign calls to technicians, schedule customers, answer customers questions, order parts, schedule techs when the parts come in, track parts, and monitor shop and truck inventory. He also answers technical questions from the technicians, runs service calls and goes on site to assist his technicians for training, assistance or additional manpower as needed.

Ben enjoys working with customers and technicians alike. He loves helping people! Fixing a piece of equipment or training a new technician makes him feel accomplished. Ben likes challenges and finding solutions to resolve them.

At Doug’s we are a family. Many of Doug’s employees have been here over 20 years, which is not common in today’s world. Our staff are not just coworkers. We are friends! And this is what makes Doug’s a great place to work.  We value our employees and customers and always want them to have the best experience they can,” Ben says.

He also would like to remind homeowners to replace their filters on a regular basis and to take advantage of routine maintenance on their equipment to prevent small issues from becoming major problems. Ben notes, “We also have a full commercial install and service department. We have a commercial estimating department, we install equipment in new and existing commercial buildings, we fabricate metal ducting,  we service commercial equipment and we provide maintenance for existing commercial equipment.”
